History of the First Congregational Church

Larry Berkson has researched, written and published a two volume History of The First Congregational Church. He has very generously donated the results of his endeavor to our church so that anyone wishing to own these volumes may do so. All proceeds will be deposited in the newly established Quintin B. Berkson Memorial Fund at First Congregational. The interest from this account is to be used for the benefit of the church. This fund is in memory of Larry and his wife Susan’s son Quintin, who passed away at a young age.

The two-volume set will be sold at $35 and can be purchased after church during Fellowship Hour or by contacting Susan Bleckmann to reserve your copies. Ω

The Dorcas Guild's project for this year is really a combination of three projects. We are making head/neck scarves for those enduring chemo treatments; "chemo tote bags," which include a variety of items such as a small pillow, hand sanitizer, tissue packs, lip balm, pads, pens, etc.; and children's tote bags for emergency crews to give young children when there is a family crisis. These include books, crayons, coloring books, toys, etc. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Mary Jo Powelson or Nella Hobson

Dorcus Guild

The first Sunday of the month features a potluck brunch. Third Sunday of the month is hosted by the Dorcas Guild.  Coffey and punch will be provided on the second, fourth, and fifth Sundays. Of course food items will always be welcome.  Cleanup help following fellowship is always needed and appreciated.  Ω

Fellowship

We are looking for some folks who would be willing to serve as liturgists for our summer months. It would involve helping out at the Sunday morning service reading the Call to Worship and maybe another item. If you are looking for a way to become involved in worship, and this sounds like a good fit, please let Nella Hobson know. She can fill you in on what's involved and select a Sunday for you to assist in worship. Thank you!
